It was indeed a memorable Saturday for our JET alumni as they engaged in two meaningful activities: Members Brunch and Welcome Reception at the Ambassador's Residence.

The day started off with a brunch in UCC Clockwork which allowed current members to finally meet in person and bond, connect, and spend some time sharing their unforgettable JET experiences.

It was followed by a Welcome Reception at the official residence of the Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines where a short but sweet ceremony was held to congratulate our JET returnees from 2020-2022.

This was the first Welcome Reception held in person after the pandemic.

こんにちは! 

Did you know that furoshiki (tsutsumi) has more than a thousand-year history? We didn’t know either (you’re welcome, by the way). But we didn’t only learn about its history, we also got to try our hands at wrapping different objects using various techniques!

It was indeed a very enjoyable afternoon with fellow JET alumni, and we would like to give special thanks to Ms. Junko Kamata (Nihongo Partners, Japan Foundation Manila) for taking the time to teach us last Saturday.
